The 8th additional district and Session court sentenced a rape and murder accused to the life imprisonment on Thursday. He had murdered a married woman in August 2017.
Sessions Judge V B Suryavamshi sentenced Huseinsaab Fakeersaab Nadaf, resident of Sankadal in Naragund taluk in Gadag district to the life imprisonment. The accused was sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment under one section and life imprisonment under another section. He was fined Rs. 50k and Rs. 2.5 lakh under different sections.
According to the charge sheet the accused was acquainted with a married woman who had come to her husband’s place to Batakurki for Naga Panchami. Huseinsaab who was a construction worker acquainted with her and developed physical contact by making false promise of marrying her.
On the fateful day both had arrived at a vacant land at Shailughat on his bike. The woman had accosted him by asking when he marries her and there was a heated argument between them. When he refused to marry her the women had allegedly threatened him that she would expose him by inform the people about their relationship. When she pressurised him to elope the accused got enraged and raped her. Later he tied the veil of her chudidar around her neck and killed her. Later he left behind her body in the vacant ground and fled on his motorbike.
Next day the passer-by saw her nude body and the brother of the victim too had filed a missing complaint. Police arrested the accused and had produced the charge sheet in the court.
