The Lok Sabha polls -2019 waterloo for Cong-JDS alliance

Pragativahini News, Karwar
The stunning defeat of Congress and JDS alliance in Karnataka has not come as a surprise for many. The marriage of coAnnivance and unholy relation between these parties for the sake of power has been rejected by the voters.
First time in the history of democratic India, Congress and JDS have been reduced to one seat in Karnataka. The entire Karnataka is swept by the Modi wave. The solo seats own by Congress (Bengaluru Rural) and JDS (Hasan) is just a consolation and saved these parties from the total rout.
A mighty party like Congress which was in invincible position in Karnataka politics just two decades ago is today is completely shattered. The ineffective and self-styled leaders of Congress who were totally disconnected from the ground reality, too much slavery of a Gandhi-Nehru family, the corruption, the pent up anger of the people against the state government which failed to keep its promise of loan waver of farmers has hit the Congress hard in this election.
Arrogant leaders like Siddaramaih whose anti-Hindu policies resulted in the disaster for the Congress during last assembly election have not learnt any lesson. It was surprising that leaders like Rahul Gandhi were banking heavily on the leaders like Siddaramaih who reduced party to 74 seats in assembly from 124 seats. Now the issue has come full circle. Even leaders like H D Devegowda, Mallikarjun Kharge, Muniyappa and Veerappa Moily have rejected by the electorate.
The cast politics played JDS and Congress have not yielded favourable results for these parties in any manner. Like rest of India, the voter in Karnataka too has rejected the old model of Congress politics which was always played in the name of cast and religion. Leaders like Siddaramaih and Mallikarjun Kharge have done more damage to Congress than helping it by their statements. Their arrogance and abusing Prime Minister in street side language and calling the name of state BJP leaders has not gone down well with the electorate of the state.
The younger generation which is privy to the social media is watching the leaders. Today’s India is not the India of ‘60s or ,70s. but the Congress leaders who have not understood this have taken the voters for granted and subverted the popular mandate of 2018 assembly election in the name of keeping the ‘Communal BJP’ out of the power. Within one year of formation of Cong – JDS government in the state both the parties have been reduced one seat each. The defeat of former PM H D Devegowda and Kumarawamy’s son Nikhil Kumarswamy is an eye opener for the JDS. The message is loud and clear. The politics by one family will not be accepted by the people of the state. Will the JDS and Congress leaders understand this? Is the question of million dollars?
The blame game has already begun. Congress is blaming JDS for the defeat of Siddu’s candidates in Mysuru, Bagalkot and Vijayapur and JDS is blaming Congress for defeat Gowda family. It is an open secret that the government in the state will fall sooner rather than later. There are rumours that Devegowda has opened back channels with BJP to form a JDS-BJP coalition government in the state. As per the plans CM Kumaraswamy would move to centre and H D Revanna will be the deputy CM and Yeddyurappa of BJP will be the CM.
That means the state has to get ready for second round of the political drama in coming days. Nobody wants election at this juncture. But the political show must go on…..!!
