Pragativahini News, Hukkeri (Belagavi) -Three agricultural women labourers were killed and three other women were injured when a Bolero Jeeo run over on them near their village Gudas in Hukkeri taluk in Saturday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Jayashree Maladandi, Prema Bangari and Sunita Gavani and injured as Priyanka Nandihalli, Yamanawwa Karjol and Shankarawwa Malkari, all from Gudas village, undergoing treatment at government hospital at Gokak.
One of the deceased woman killed on the spot, another at government hospital at Gokak, the vehicle was in high speed as it dragged the third deceased woman till about a km from the spot of the accident. The body of the woman dragged by the vehicle was removed out by the people. The driver of the vehicle ran away leaving behind the vehicle from the place where the third woman was taken out.
The vehicle collected vegetable at Ghatprabha, delivered at Belagavi and was back to Hukkeri town when the mishap occurred.
The Hukkeri police have registered a case.
