ವಿ ಟಿ ಯು ನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಗೂಗಲ್ ನ “ಡೆವ್‌ಫೆಸ್ಟ್” ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ
ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ಗೂಗಲ್ ನ ಸಾಫ್ಟವೆರ್ ಡೆವೆಲಪರ್ ಗಳ “ಡೆವ್‌ಫೆಸ್ಟ್” ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಇಂದು ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ (ವಿ ಟಿ ಯು), ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಯ ಡಾ. ಎ.ಪಿ.ಜೆ. ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ಕಲಾಂ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಸಾಫ್ಟವೆರ್ ಡೆವಲಪರ್‌ಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ತಜ್ಞರನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆ (AI), ಕ್ರಾಸ್-ಪ್ಲಾಟ್‌ಫಾರ್ಮ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಆಪ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ನವೀಕರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿ ಟಿ ಯು ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ವಿದ್ಯಾಶಂಕರ ಎಸ್., ಅವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತ ಇವತ್ತು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಔದ್ಯೋಗಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಇರುವ ಅಂತರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿದೆ ಅದು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಆದಾಗಲೇ ನಾವುಗಳು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯವುಳ್ಳ ಪದವೀಧರರನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಇವತ್ತು ಒಂದು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಅಥವಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿಜವಾದ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಕೇವಲ ಜ್ಞಾನ ನೀಡುವುದಲಿಲ್ಲ ಹೊರತು ಆ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿ ನಾವಿನ್ಯತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತವಾಗುವ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಅಥವಾ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸುವುದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥ ಡೆವ್‌ಫೆಸ್ಟ್‌ನಂತಹ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಇವತ್ತಿನ ಅವಶ್ಯಕ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಾದ AI, ಕ್ಲೌಡ್ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಆಟೋಮೇಷನ್, ಕ್ವಾಂಟಮ್ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು. ಇದೆ ದಿಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿ ಟಿ ಯು ಮಹತ್ತರ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದ ಹೊಸ ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೋವೇಶನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿಸೈನ್ ಥಿಂಕಿಂಗ್ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಕೆ ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಥಮ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲೇ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ನ್ನು ಸಹ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಇದರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಇನ್ನೋವೇಶನ್ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳು ಬೆಳಿಕಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಇದನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದೆ ವಸ್ರ್ಹ ಕೇವಲ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ್ ಹಿಂದಷ್ಟೇ ಬಿ ಟೆಕ್ ಪ್ರಥಮ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ನಾಸಾ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಹ್ಯಾಕಥಾನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಗೂಗಲ್ ಡೇವ್ ಫೆಸ್ಟ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಕ್ಯುಬಿಕೋಡ್ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಮೀಡಿಯಾ ಎಲ್ ಎಲ್ ಪಿ ಸಹ -ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು ಶ್ರೀ ಸರ್ವೇಶ್ ಕಕ್ಕೇರಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಲಸಚಿವರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ರಾಂಪುರೆ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ ಕುಲಸಚಿವರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಯು. ಜೆ. ಉಜ್ವಲ್, ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಸೈನ್ಸ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ ಎಸ ಎ ಅಂಗಡಿ, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ ರಂಜನಾ ನಾಡಗೌಡರ್, ಗೂಗಲ್ ಡೇವ್ ಫೆಸ್ಟ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.
ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನಂತರ AI, ಕ್ಲೌಡ್ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಆಟೋಮೇಷನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ನಡೆದವು.

The 2025 edition of DevFest Belgaum was successfully held at the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, celebrating innovation, developer engagement, and the spirit of collaboration in emerging technologies. The event brought together students, developers, and technology professionals from across Karnataka to explore advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), cross-platform development, and app-building technologies.
In his Presidential Address, Prof. Vidyashankar S., Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of VTU-Belagavi, underscored the growing importance of skill-based learning alongside traditional academics. He noted that “the real strength of a university lies not just in imparting knowledge, but in transforming that knowledge into innovation that serves society.”
Prof. Vidyashankar urged students to make use of platforms like DevFest to develop hands-on skills in AI, cloud computing, automation, and app development, ensuring they are industry-ready and globally competent. He reaffirmed VTU’s vision to evolve as a center for research, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation, fostering innovation ecosystems in collaboration with technology partners and startups.
He further called upon faculty and students to bridge the gap between academia and industry by participating actively in global developer communities, positioning VTU as a leader in technological education and skill development.
Registrar Prof. Prasad Rampure gave initial remarks and welcomed the gathering. Program Organizer and Co-founder of Cubiccode Digital Media LLP Shri Sarvesh Kakkeri spoke on the occasion. At this occasion Registrar Evaluation Prof. U. J. Ujwal, Computer Science Department Chairperson Prof. S. A. Angadi, Program Coordinator Prof. Ranjana Nadagoudar, Chairpersons of Various departments, Participants from Belagavi Region Colleges, Students were present.
Later the technical sessions featured Google Developer Experts (GDEs) and industry leaders, including Durgesh Chalvadi (IBM MEA Ecosystem) on AI Agents, Vivek Yadav (FlutterFlow) on AI-Assisted App Development, and Belal Khan (American Express) on Kotlin Multiplatform and Jetpack Compose. Their sessions provided practical insights into next-generation tools and frameworks shaping the future of software development.
Interactive workshops, networking sessions, and a hands-on hackathon enabled participants to learn by doing, fostering teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
Jointly organized by Team GDG Belgaum and VTU Belagavi, DevFest Belgaum 2025 reaffirmed its mission to empower students and professionals through technology, skill-oriented education, and community-driven innovation — strengthening the developer ecosystem of North Karnataka.
