Minister of State of Railways, Suresh Angadi held a review meeting with Vishwesh Chaube, Member Engineering, Railway Board and senior Railway officers in Rail Bhavan today, on pending railway projects/works in Karnataka.
In this review meeting, the Minister was apprised that the doubling has been sanctioned between Pune- Miraj- Londa and Hubli -Davangere- Tumkur and the work is under progress. The Minister instructed that the work should be expedited and completed by 2020. It will give connectivity between Karnataka and Maharashtra and will also generate employment opportunities.
Suresh C. Angadi, also reviewed the status of Bangalore sub-urban railway which is a joint project of Government of Karnataka and Government of India. P.C.Mohan, M.P. Loksabha (Bangalore Central) was also present in the review meeting. Railway officers apprised that the work on Bangalore sub-urban railway system is under progress. Minister instructed that the project should be taken on priority and expeditiously.
Angadi reviewed the progress of Hubbali- Ankola railway line. He instructed Railway authorities to liaise with Government of Karnataka to expedite forest and other clearances so that the work can be completed in a time bound manner.
