In an initiative to train common citizens to initiate basic measures while a person gets a cardiac arrest, Lakeview Foundation along with IAP BLS Group on Sunday conducted ‘Save a Life – Cardiopulmonary resuscitation workshop. The workshop was held at the IMA Hall here, where the training was held.
The participants were given hands on training on how to restart the heart when someone has had a sudden cardiac arrest.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Vijayalaxmi Kulgod said that 85% of deaths occur due to cardiac arrests and due to non availability of immediate measures. If some simple steps are initiated, lives of many citizens can be saved she said. “ Unless revived by the bystanders, these people don’t survive. However, with correct CPR, within 5 minutes, 40 to 45% of the patients lives can be saved,” she said.
Accompanied by team of doctors and experts, Dr Vijayalakshmi Kulgod and team from Lakeview hospital imparted the training.
About 40 participants from were imparted the training and would be now able to assist patients with a sudden cardiac arrests in saving their lives. Dr Sanjay Hosalli, President, Lakeview Foundation, welcomed the participants.
