ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಿಕ್ಟೋರಿಯಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಟ್ರಾಮಾ ಮತ್ತು ಎಮರ್ಜೆನ್ಸಿ ಕೇರ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಅಂಗಾಂಗ ಕಸಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪೂರೈಸಿದೆ. ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೈಗೆಟಕುವ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ವೈದ್ಯರ ತಂಡ ಒದಗಿಸಿದೆ.

ನೋವಿನ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರ ಬಾಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಗಾಗುವ ರೀತಿಯ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಕೈಗೊಂಡ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು ಎಂದು ಡಾ. ದೀಪಕ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಂಡ್ಯ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ದರ್ಶನ್ ಎಂಬ ಯುವಕ ಕಳೆದ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ ೨೨ರಂದು ಬೈಕ್ನಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ. ಆದರೆ ಆತುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ. ಆದರೆ ಆತನ ತಲೆಗೆ ಭಾರಿ ಪೆಟ್ಟಾಗಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿದರು. ಆಗ ತಲೆಯೊಳಗೆ ರಕ್ತಸ್ರಾವವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಯಿತು.
ಕೂಡಲೇ ಆತನನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಕ್ಟೋರಿಯಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಟ್ರಾಮಾ ಕೇರ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲಾಯಿತು. ಹಲವಾರು ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಿದರೂ ಆತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಡಾ. ಕಾವ್ಯಾ, ಡಾ. ದೀಪಕ್, ಡಾ. ಆಸೀಮಾ ಬಾನು ಉನ್ನತ ವೈದ್ಯರ ತಂಡ “ಬ್ರೇನ್ ಡೆಡ್” ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿತು.
ನಂತರ ಜೀವ ಸಾರ್ಥಕತೆ ಎಂಬ ತಂಡ, ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ದಿನೇಶ್ ಅಂಗಾಂಗ ದಾನ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಿ ಸಾರ್ಥಕತೆ ಮೆರೆದರು.
ದಿನೇಶ್ ಅವರ ಯಕೃತ್ತು, ಮೂತ್ರಪಿಂಡ, ಹೃದಯ ನಾಳಗಳು, ಇತರೆ ಅಂಗ ಪಡೆದು ಅರ್ಹರಿಗೆ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ದಿನೇಶ್ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಈ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ವೈದ್ಯರು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Family of Brain-Dead Youth from Mandya Donates Organs, Brings Hope to Six Lives
Successful organ transplant at Victoria Hospital’s Trauma Care Centre
Bengaluru, Feb. 25: In what doctors are calling the noblest of all donations, the family of a young man from Chikka Mandya village in Mandya’s Kasaba hobli has turned grief into purpose by consenting to donate their son’s organs, giving a new lease of life to several patients.
The organ transplant was successfully carried out at the Trauma & Emergency Care Centre (TECC) of Victoria Hospital, Bengaluru, with the government hospital’s medical team providing the service at affordable cost to the public.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Deepak and special officer at TECC Dr. Asima Banu while sharing details of the case, commended the dedicated efforts of the Bengaluru Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), the Trauma & Emergency Care Centre staff, and the Jeevasaarthakate (organ donation facilitation) team.
“We are deeply grateful to the family members who, even in their moment of profound grief, made the noble decision to serve society and brighten others’ lives,” said Dr Asima & Dr. Deepak.
Darshan, a young man from Chikka Mandya village, fell off his bike on February 22 and sustained injuries. Initially dismissing the fall, he returned home and went to sleep. When his condition appeared serious, he was rushed to hospital, where doctors discovered severe internal brain hemorrhage.
He was immediately transferred to the TECC at Victoria Hospital, Bengaluru. Despite extensive treatment and tests, he showed no response. After two days, a senior medical panel comprising Dr. Kavya, Dr. Deepak, and Dr. Asima Banu of BMCRI officially declared him brain dead.
Following counseling sessions with the family by the Jeevasaarthakate team, the family of Dinesh consented to organ donation — a decision that will live on as a tribute to his memory.
Dinesh’s liver, kidneys, heart valves, and other organs were retrieved and transplanted into eligible recipients. The hospital’s medical team has wholeheartedly applauded the family’s courageous and selfless decision.
