*Belagavi Industries to Get Relief from Power Problems Soon: KPTCL and HESCOM Assure*
Pragativahini News, Belagavi: The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) and Hubballi Electricity Supply Company (HESCOM) have assured that the persistent power-related issues faced by industries in Belagavi, including power shortages and frequent outages, will be addressed at the earliest.
The assurance was given during an interaction with industrialists held on Thursday evening at the Belagavi Chamber of Commerce and Industries auditorium, where officials listened to the grievances of entrepreneurs and business representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Belagavi Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Prabhakar Nagarmunoli said that electricity is the backbone of industries, but the sector continues to face numerous challenges.
“Every time we hold meetings with KPTCL and HESCOM officials, the issues are discussed, but the outcome remains negligible. This time, it should not be the same. Officials must clearly state their plans and deliver on the assurances they make,” he said.
Referring to the proposed 230 KV Mache substation, he said that laying an underground cable would cost around ₹80 crore, whereas an overhead transmission line could save nearly ₹70 crore. The savings could then be utilised for other infrastructure development works.
He also pointed out that existing substations are operating under heavy load and stressed the need to expedite the tender process for the proposed Navage substation. “If new substations are not established quickly, the situation could become critical. The existing infrastructure is inadequate to meet the growing demand, and frequent power interruptions are causing heavy losses to industries,” he added.
HESCOM Superintending Engineer Praveen Chikkade said that the utility staff are working beyond their capacity with the available resources.
“We are planning for the next 25 years by taking future power demand into account. Upgradation of all substations is underway, and we are addressing issues at the micro level. Every complaint is taken seriously. There is no load shedding anywhere in Belagavi, and we will continue to work more efficiently and in an industry-friendly manner,” he assured.
KPTCL Superintending Engineer Krishnappa said that efforts are being made to achieve a “zero complaint” status at the earliest.
“We are receiving excellent cooperation from the Chamber of Commerce and industrial units in Belagavi. All the issues raised by the stakeholders will be addressed,” he said.
Anand Desai, Chairman of the HESCOM Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, alleged that there is a public perception that HESCOM staff switch off their mobile phones during heavy rain and storms.
“While it is true that the staff work hard, the expected results are not being achieved. We receive a large number of complaints from industries and business establishments, and entrepreneurs are suffering financial losses due to power-related issues,” he said.
Representatives of various trade and industrial associations submitted their grievances in writing and expressed concern that running businesses had become increasingly difficult because of inadequate response to electricity-related complaints.
After hearing all the representations, KPTCL and HESCOM officials reiterated that they are making every effort to function in an industry-friendly manner within the limits of available resources. They also assured that complaints would be attended to promptly and that better services would be delivered with the cooperation of all stakeholders.
Office-bearers of the Belagavi Chamber of Commerce, Small Industries Association, Micro Industries Association, Laghu Udyog Bharati and other organisations attended the meeting. HESCOM Executive Engineer Aravind Gadagkar, KPTCL Executive Engineer Dandepannavar, and officials and staff of both KPTCL and HESCOM were also present.

बेळगावातील उद्योगांच्या वीज समस्यांवर लवकरच तोडगा; केपीटीसीएल आणि हेस्कॉमचे आश्वासन
बेळगाव : वीज टंचाई, वारंवार होणारे वीज खंडित होणे आणि इतर वीजपुरवठ्याशी संबंधित समस्यांमुळे अडचणीत सापडलेल्या बेळगावातील उद्योगांना लवकरच दिलासा मिळेल, असे आश्वासन केपीटीसीएल (KPTCL) आणि हेस्कॉम (HESCOM) अधिकाऱ्यांनी दिले.
गुरुवारी सायंकाळी बेळगाव चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स अँड इंडस्ट्रीजच्या सभागृहात आयोजित बैठकीत उद्योगपतींच्या तक्रारी ऐकून घेतल्यानंतर अधिकाऱ्यांनी ही ग्वाही दिली.
यावेळी चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स अँड इंडस्ट्रीजचे अध्यक्ष प्रभाकर नागरमुनोळी म्हणाले की, वीज ही उद्योगांची जीवनवाहिनी आहे, मात्र उद्योग क्षेत्राला अनेक समस्यांना सामोरे जावे लागत आहे.
“प्रत्येक बैठकीत केपीटीसीएल आणि हेस्कॉम अधिकाऱ्यांशी चर्चा होते, पण त्यातून ठोस परिणाम दिसून येत नाहीत. यावेळी तसे होऊ नये. अधिकाऱ्यांनी स्पष्ट भूमिका मांडून दिलेली आश्वासने प्रत्यक्षात उतरवावीत,” असे त्यांनी सांगितले.
मच्छे येथील २३० केव्ही उपकेंद्राच्या संदर्भात त्यांनी सांगितले की, भूमिगत केबल टाकण्यासाठी सुमारे ८० कोटी रुपये खर्च येणार असून, त्याऐवजी ओव्हरहेड लाईन उभारल्यास जवळपास ७० कोटी रुपयांची बचत होईल. ही बचत इतर विकासकामांसाठी वापरता येऊ शकते.
सध्या सर्व उपकेंद्रांवर मोठ्या प्रमाणात भार असून, नवगे उपकेंद्राच्या निविदा प्रक्रियेला गती देण्याची गरज असल्याचे त्यांनी नमूद केले. “नवीन उपकेंद्रे तातडीने उभारली नाहीत, तर भविष्यात गंभीर परिस्थिती निर्माण होईल. वाढत्या मागणीच्या तुलनेत सुविधा अपुऱ्या आहेत आणि वारंवार होणाऱ्या वीज खंडिततेमुळे उद्योगांचे मोठे नुकसान होत आहे,” असे ते म्हणाले.
हेस्कॉमचे अधीक्षक अभियंता प्रवीण चिक्काडे यांनी सांगितले की, उपलब्ध मनुष्यबळ आणि साधनसंपत्तीच्या मर्यादेत कर्मचारी पूर्ण क्षमतेने काम करत आहेत.
“पुढील २५ वर्षांची वीज मागणी लक्षात घेऊन नियोजन करण्यात आले आहे. सर्व उपकेंद्रांचे आधुनिकीकरण सुरू असून, सूक्ष्म पातळीवर समस्या समजून घेऊन त्यावर काम केले जात आहे. प्रत्येक तक्रारीची गांभीर्याने दखल घेतली जाते. बेळगावमध्ये कुठेही लोडशेडिंग नाही आणि भविष्यात उद्योगस्नेही पद्धतीने अधिक कार्यक्षम सेवा देण्यात येईल,” असे त्यांनी स्पष्ट केले.
केपीटीसीएलचे अधीक्षक अभियंता कृष्णप्पा यांनी “शून्य तक्रार” हे उद्दिष्ट ठेवून काम सुरू असल्याचे सांगितले.
“बेळगाव चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स आणि उद्योगांकडून आम्हाला चांगले सहकार्य मिळत आहे. उद्योगांच्या सर्व समस्या सोडविण्यासाठी आम्ही कटिबद्ध आहोत,” असे त्यांनी आश्वासन दिले.
चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्सच्या हेस्कॉम समितीचे अध्यक्ष आनंद देसाई यांनी, पाऊस आणि वादळाच्या काळात हेस्कॉम कर्मचाऱ्यांचे मोबाईल बंद असतात, अशी तक्रार उद्योग क्षेत्रातून होत असल्याचे सांगितले.
“कर्मचारी मेहनत घेत आहेत, हे खरे असले तरी अपेक्षित परिणाम मिळत नाहीत. उद्योग आणि व्यापाऱ्यांकडून सातत्याने तक्रारी येत असून, त्यांना आर्थिक फटका बसत आहे,” असे त्यांनी नमूद केले.
विविध व्यापारी आणि औद्योगिक संघटनांच्या प्रतिनिधींनी आपल्या समस्या लेखी स्वरूपात सादर केल्या. वीजविषयक तक्रारींना योग्य प्रतिसाद मिळत नसल्यामुळे उद्योग चालविणे कठीण होत असल्याची खंत त्यांनी व्यक्त केली.
सर्व बाजू ऐकून घेतल्यानंतर केपीटीसीएल आणि हेस्कॉम अधिकाऱ्यांनी उपलब्ध साधनसंपत्तीच्या मर्यादेत उद्योगस्नेही सेवा देण्याचे काम सुरू असून, भविष्यात सर्वांच्या सहकार्याने अधिक चांगली सेवा दिली जाईल तसेच कोणत्याही तक्रारीवर तातडीने कार्यवाही केली जाईल, असे आश्वासन दिले.
या बैठकीला बेळगाव चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स, स्मॉल इंडस्ट्रीज असोसिएशन, मायक्रो इंडस्ट्रीज असोसिएशन, लघु उद्योग भारती तसेच विविध व्यापारी आणि औद्योगिक संघटनांचे पदाधिकारी उपस्थित होते. हेस्कॉमचे कार्यकारी अभियंता अरविंद गदगकर, केपीटीसीएलचे कार्यकारी अभियंता दंडेप्पणवर तसेच दोन्ही विभागांचे अधिकारी आणि कर्मचारीही यावेळी उपस्थित होते.
