Gajananrao Bhatkande High School’s Perform Bhoomi Pooja of their International School Building.
Gajananrao Bhatkhande, the first President of Belgaum city municipality have done remarkable work in the various fields like social, political, Cooperative and Education in Belagavi city.
While doing this he was of the opinion that, unless the community is educated, it is not going to be develop and hence he started Vidya Prasarak Mandal for the needy students in the year 1970 in a small place at S P M road Belagavi.
While starting this he had dreamt of making it bigger. It was started with few students and one classroom.
Now Bhatkhande English medium school and composite University College have 20 classes, 55 staff and more than 2000 students.
After taking the charge of this Institute we have built a three storied building just beside Shivaji Udyan, but now a days this place is also not sufficient to cater the present strength.
one great philanthropist has said that, Progress is impossible without change and those who cannot change their mind, may not change anything they in their life .Keeping this in mind I have decided to build an Educational Complex at khasbag for which we have taken a land of about two acres. we are going to construct nice International School with laboratory , library, Sports Complex using modern techniques and advanced technology, said School President Milind Bhatkande.
Milind Bhatkande, Secretary Madhura Bhatkande performed the pooja under the guidance of Birje. At the outset Principal Daya Shahapurkar, Nitin Bhatkande, Prabhakar Shahapurkar, Nagesh Bhatkande, Architect Kapil Desai of Kolhapur, Civil Engineer Rajesh Jadhav & School Staff were Present.
