Permission is essential for Pre-election advertisements

Any person, candidate or organisation that wish to publish the advertisement in any daily on April 22 and 23 has to obtain the Certification by Media Certification and monitoring Committee (MCMC), said Dr. Vishal, Returning officer and Deputy Commissioner.

Those who are interested in publishing the election related advertisements on April 22 and 23 should submit the self-attested copies of the advertisements with the prescribed alienation form before April 20 to the MCMC. Before obtaining the permission from MCMC no advertisement should be published he said.
The application forms are available at the Vartha Bhavan Publicity and Public relation department at Belagavi.
The Committee would scan electronic media including internet, cable and mobile network for suspected cases of paid news, monitoring of political advertisements in electronic media, expenditure on advertisements along with name and address of the publisher and printer.
Besides, where the suspected cases of Paid News were decided as a “Paid News “either at district level/CEO level/Commission level, as the case may be, the actual/notional expenditure shall be treated as part of election expenses of the candidate concerned. Violation of this would invite the penal proceedings against violators DC said
