Three persons who had raped and threatened a minor girl have been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the court here.
Those who have been punished by the court are identified as Siddappa Mallappa Nandagoan (23), Ramesh Raosab Nandagoan (24) and Ashok Basappa Nandagoan (24).
According to the prosecution the accused Siddappa and Ramesh had had abducted the victim and raped her. Ashok had helped them in their crime. Under pretext of dropping victim to her home the accused had again gang raped her and threatened her of dire consequences if she reveal the incident.
Court has imposed the 10 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs. 26 thousand fine to Siddappa and Ramesh and 2 years impoundment and Rs. 2 thousand fine on Ashok.
G. Nanjundaih, third additional District and Session Judge of Belagavi has pronounced the judgement. Public Prosecutor L. V. Patil had represented the prosecution.
