Pragativahini News, Belagavi – Amidst the scare of corona virus outbreak and the locked down imposed, hospitals continue to do their duty inspite of all odds.
One such noble work of saving a newborn baby happened at the NOBLE CARE Children’s hospital during the lockdown period.
A preterm baby weighing 1.8 kilograms was delivered on April 27 and was brought to Noble Care Hospital with difficulty in breathing and abdominal distension. The baby had developed multiple holes in its Stomach and was growing sicker with each passing hour with imminent death threat. The baby was seen by Dr.Vijay Pujar and after stabilisation the baby underwent a supra major surgery probably first of its kind and removal of a major part of stomach was required to save babies life.
Post operative care and establishing feeds in this baby was another challenge as its stomach capacity was reduced to only 4-5 ml. Baby also had developed severe infection by then. Team of Paediatrician’s of Noble care hospital accepted the challenge and by their constant supervision and meticulous treatment for more than a month, now the baby is out of danger, is healthy and accepting feeds well.
The doctors of the Noble Care Hospital expressed happiness And satisfaction in saving this babies life. They also thanked Paediatric surgeon Dr. Vijay pujar and Anaesthetist Dr Kodliwadmath for performing a rarest and difficult surgery successfully on this tiny baby and giving a second life.
Doctors also told that babies with such disease are rare to survive. This baby could survive because of the excellent surgery and care received even during lockdown period
Most importantly thanks to the parents of the baby, who were well determined and composed inspite of going through emotional trauma throughout.
