The 21st ISKCON Lord Jagannatha Ratha Yatra will begin at Belagavi on 02nd February 2019 from Dharmaveer Sambhaji Chowk at 1.30 p.m.
Alike all previous years, this year also the Rathayatra will be very colorful & will be celebrated with great devotion & enthusiasm. The festival will be celebrated not only by thousands of devotees of ISKCON from many places in India & abroad, but also by the spiritually-minded citizens of Belagavi who are expected in large numbers en route the procession.
The Ratha of the procession will be decorated and on that Their Lordships Jagannatha, Baladeva & Subhadra Devi will be seated. They will be decorated with fine clothing & garlands & will give Their merciful Darshan to all the residents of Belagavi. Kirtan parties will be musically chanting the holy names of Lord Krishna as they dance along the streets of city. Devotees are expected from various parts of the country. Senior members of ISKCON, like Lokanath Swami, Swami Ramagovind Swami & Bhakti Rasamrut Swami will flag the procession.
The procession will also have many beautiful dioramas depicting the various pastimes of Lord Krishna. Various groups of colorfully dressed children will enact few pleasing pastimes of the Lord. There will be a long chain of gaily-decorated bullock carts as a part of Bullock Cart Competition. Many well-wishers will shower flower petals upon the procession as it passes & many others will serve water & sharbat to the devotees.
The grounds near the ISKCON Temple will wear a very festive look with beautifully decorated Pandal & stalls. On both evenings at the Pandal, there will be Bhajans, Kirtans, Arati of Lord Jagannatha, children’s programme & also discourses by ISKCON’s distinguished senior visiting devotees. In addition, there will be stalls featuring Bhagavad Gita Exhibitions, Slide shows, Meditation Park, Dioramas,Go-Seva stall, Display of Spiritual Books & devotional paraphernalia, Free Krishna Prasadam distribution for everyone, etc.
Ratha Yatra Route
Rathayatra will start from Dharamveer Sambhaji Chowk (Bogarves) & will further proceed to Samadevi Galli, Ganpat Galli, Nargundkar Bhave Chowk, Maruti Galli, Kirloskar Road, Tilak Chowk, Ramling Khind Galli, Patil Galli, Kapileshwar Road (ROB), SPM Road, Shahapur Khade Bazar, Nath Pai Circle, BMK Ayurvedic College Road, Goaves, Towards ISKCON Temple & culminates at ISKCON Temple at 06.30 p.m.
