Mrinal Hebbalkar Attends Preparatory Meeting for ‘Goy Rakhonn Yatra’
Congress gears up for major statewide public outreach campaign ahead of Goa Assembly elections
Pragativahini news, Panaji: Mrinal Hebbalkar, who has been appointed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to coordinate media and campaign-related activities for the Goa Assembly elections, participated in the preparatory meeting for the ‘Goy Rakhonn Yatra’, a major statewide public outreach campaign being organised by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC).
The 27-day Yatra will be held from September 22 to October 18 and will cover more than 355 km across all 40 Assembly constituencies in Goa.
According to the Congress, the Yatra is aimed at protecting Goa’s identity, land, environment, natural resources and rich cultural heritage, while providing a platform to directly listen to the concerns of the people and amplify their voices.
Issues including land conversion, environmental protection, unemployment, law and order, women’s safety and other matters concerning the people of Goa are expected to feature prominently during the campaign.
The preparatory meeting discussed various aspects of the Yatra, including programme coordination, constituency-level arrangements, media outreach and campaign-related activities. The participants also discussed measures to ensure that the Yatra reaches people across all 40 Assembly constituencies and provides greater opportunities for direct interaction with the public and understanding of local issues.
The meeting was attended by GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Working President Sunil Kawthankar, National Media Coordinator Mathew Anthony, Coordinator Nishant Anand and Congress leader Varad Mardolkar, among others.
Mrinal Hebbalkar entrusted with key media coordination responsibility
In view of the forthcoming Goa Assembly elections, the AICC appointed Mrinal Hebbalkar, Mathew Anthony, Nishant Anand and Ali Mehdi as coordinators for media and campaign-related activities on September 14.
As part of the responsibility entrusted to him by the AICC, Mrinal Hebbalkar has been coordinating with the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee on media and campaign-related activities. His participation in the preparatory meeting for the statewide ‘Goy Rakhonn Yatra’ is part of these organisational responsibilities.
The Yatra is scheduled to commence from Ambedkar Park in Panaji on September 22 and will travel across all 40 Assembly constituencies during its 27-day schedule.
With the Goa Assembly elections approaching, the Congress has been focusing on organisational activities and public outreach, with the ‘Goy Rakhonn Yatra’ being planned as a major statewide campaign.
