Pragativahini News, Hubballi : Senior Journalist Patil Puttappa popularly known as”PAPU” died at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) on Monday night. He was 101.
PAPU was admitted to the hospital as he was suffering from age related ailmate since two weeks. Knowing his health condition, CM Yeddyurappa called on him at the hospital on Sunday afternoon.
Even after his 90s PAPU had a strong memory power as he used to say the names of each and every villages in the border villages of Karnataka as well Maharashtra. He even used to describe the meaning of the villages in Maharashtra which give Kannada meaning.
He was one of the strong pleaders for the border districts especially Belagavi with the government.
