Global Exposure is an Imperative Ingredient: Dr. Jadeja
Pragativahini News, Belagavi
With the global boundaries lessening rapidly across all spheres, the importance of international exposure among the technical students is at high demand and global exposure is today’s vital requirement, said Dr. Siddharthsinh Jadeja, Student Regional Advisor, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Asia Pacific region.
He was addressing the students at the inauguration of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) students chapter at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi.
He said, Educational veterans almost always speak about the benefits and need to send students to a foreign land for learning but, as parents, this may not be a viable option. In this case, ASME and its type of platforms definitely help the students to get expose to the new initiatives, research, developments and opportunities at the global floor.
He also highlighted the importance of international exposure. While explaining about the ASME he told that, it is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and livelihoods.
ASME Founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 1,30,000 members in 151 countries. Thirty-two thousand of these members are students. Later he discussed about the various opportunities offered by ASME and interacted with the students and faculties to discuss the annual events like E-Fests, Human Powered Vehicle challenge, student design competitions etc. that could provide them a networking platform at global level.
Principal Dr. A S Deshpande, delivered the presidential remarks. Dr. J K Kittur, HOD Mechanical welcomed the august gathering. Student Chapter Chairman Rohit Gurav introduced the chief guest. Faculty Coordinator Prof. Harshit B Kulkarni presented the objectives and proposed activities of the ASME GIT student section. Samaan Killedar delivered the vote of thanks.
