ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಗಾಲ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದು, ರೈತರು ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಗುಳೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಬರಗಾಲ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಎಕರೆಗೆ 50,000 ರೂ. ಪರಿಹಾರ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷ ನಾಯಕ ಆರ್.ಅಶೋಕ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.
ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಧವಾರ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರದ ತಾಂಡವ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಮುಖಂಡರು, ಸಚಿವರು, ಶಾಸಕರು ಜಾಲಿ ಮಾಡಲು ದೆಹಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಬರ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಇದು ಜನರ,ರೈತರ ಹಣೆಬರಹ ಎನ್ನಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಗಾಲ ಅಥವಾ ಪ್ರವಾಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆವು ಹಾಗೂ ದುಪ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಪರಿಹಾರ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಸಿಎಂ ಡಿ.ಕೆ.ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಬೆಳೆ ಬೆಳೆಯಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ರೈತರು ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ಎಂದು ಅವರೇ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು. ರೈತರಿಗೂ ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ರಜೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಲಿ. ವಿಬಿ ಜಿ ರಾಮ್ ಜಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗೆ ಮೊದಲು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿ ಈಗ ಜಾರಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ನಾಟಕ ಆಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಾವೇರಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಬಳಸಲು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿಗೆ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನೀರು ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ದೂರಿದರು.
ಕಳೆದ ವಾರ ಮಳವಳ್ಳಿ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಣಗಿರುವ ಕಬ್ಬು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದೆ. 157 ತಾಲೂಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರ ಇದೆ. 80% ರಷ್ಟು ಕೃಷಿ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೇವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ರೈತರು ದನಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟುಕರಿಗೆ ಮಾರುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಂದಾಯ ಸಚಿವರು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಂದ ವರದಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 10,000 ಕೋಟಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಾಸ್ತವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ವರದಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸದೆ ಅನುದಾನ ಹೇಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಆಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ?
ಇವರು ವರದಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಸಿಗುವುದು ಯಾವಾಗ? ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಎಸ್ ಡಿ ಆರ್ ಎಫ್ ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ಹಣ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಮರೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕ್ರಮ ಜರುಗಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಜೂನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಕೊರತೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ 42% ಆಗಿದೆ. ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ 43%, ಕರಾವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 35%, ಉತ್ತರ ಒಳನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ 33%, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಒಳನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ 31% ಮಳೆ ಕೊರತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಜಯಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ 6, ಮೈಸೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 5, ಹಾವೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 4, ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 3 ಸೇರಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 31 ರೈತರು ಕೇವಲ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ನಂತರ 2,800 ರೈತರು ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ರೈತರ ಹಣೆಬರಹ ಎಂದರು.
ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕ ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಜಿರಳೆ ಪಾರ್ಟಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬರಗಾಲ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರೂ ರೈತರ ಜೊತೆ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂಡಮಾನ್ಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪರಿಸರ ಉಳಿಸುವ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಇವರು ರೈತರ ಪರ ಮಾತಾಡಲ್ಲ. ಬರಗಾಲವನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೊದಲು, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಬರ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆರ್ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುವ ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕ್ ಖರ್ಗೆ, ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ವಲಸೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಜನರ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ನೀಡಲಿ. ಯಾದಗಿರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಂಡಾಗಳ ಜನರು ಮನೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗುಳೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 5,862 ಕೆರೆಗಳು ಬರಿದಾಗಿವೆ. ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದ ಹವಾಮಾನ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾಗಲೇ ತಯಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಖಜಾನೆ ಖಾಲಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಇವರು ಹಣ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಜಲಾಶಯ, ಕೆರೆಗಳು ಕೂಡ ಖಾಲಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. ಲಿಂಗನಮಕ್ಕಿ, ಸೂಪ, ವರಾಹಿ ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 23%, ಕಾವೇರಿ ಜಲಾನಯನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 51% ಮಾತ್ರ ನೀರಿದೆ. ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಕಣಿವೆಯ ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 48% ನೀರಿದೆ. ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ್ ಅವರ ವರದಿ ಬರುವ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ವಲಸೆ ಹೋಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಆಗ್ರಹಗಳು
ಬರಗಾಲದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಾನು ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಬರಗಾಲ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಪ್ರತಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿಗೆ 20 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ತಾಲೂಕಿಗೆ ತಲಾ ಒಂದು ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೂ. ಆ ಹಣ ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಷ್ಟು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಹಣದಿಂದ ಬೋರ್ವೆಲ್ ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನ ಮಾಡಲು ಕೂಡ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಎಕರೆಗೆ 50,000 ರೂ. ಪರಿಹಾರ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಯಾವುದೇ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರು ಹರಿಸಬಾರದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇವನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡುವ ಜಾಲ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಅದನ್ನು ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟಬೇಕು. ಮಾತು ಕೊಟ್ಟಂತೆಯೇ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಸಾಲಮನ್ನಾ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಎಸ್ಡಿಆರ್ಎಫ್ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಈಗ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ಬರ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಎನ್ಡಿಆರ್ಎಫ್ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅನುದಾನ ಕೂಡ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರದಿಂದ ನಿಯೋಗ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ವರದಿ ರೂಪಿಸಿ ಅನುದಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಫಾರಸು ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬರ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಆತಂಕ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೆಹಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಶಿವಾಜಿನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒತ್ತುವರಿ ತೆರವು ಮಾಡಲು ಹೋದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಪೆಪ್ಪರ್ ಸ್ಪ್ರೇ ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಾನೂನು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಈ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹಾಳಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಗೂಂಡಾ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಜಾರಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರು.
ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ದೊಂಬರಾಟ
ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನೀಟ್ ನೆಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಮ್ ಆದ್ಮಿ ಪಕ್ಷ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹುಸಿ ಕಾಳಜಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಲ್ಲಿ 11 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸತ್ತಾಗ ಈ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. 11 ಯುವಜನರ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಕಾರಣರಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ವರದಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆಗ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಕಾಳಜಿ ತೋರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಟೀಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನಿವಾಸದ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವಲ್ಲ.
ಮೋದಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಬಿಬಿಎಸ್ ಸೀಟುಗಳನ್ನು 51,000 ದಿಂದ 1.36 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ, ಪಿಜಿ ಸೀಟುಗಳನ್ನು 31,000 ದಿಂದ 1.17 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಹಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿರಳೆ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಷಡ್ಯಂತ್ರ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಲೋಕಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಬೀದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನಾಟಕ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಪಿಎಸ್ಸಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಕ್ರಮದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಾನು ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿದರೂ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರು.
ಜಕ್ಕೂರು ವಿಮಾನಯಾನ ತರಬೇತಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಉಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ
ಜಕ್ಕೂರಿನ ವಾಯುಪಡೆ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಜಾಗ ಕಬಳಿಸಿ ಕಾಂಪ್ಲೆಕ್ಸ್ ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿದ್ದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಫಲ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದು, ಈಗ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮಾನ ತರಬೇತಿ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಖುಷಿಯ ವಿಚಾರ ಎಂದರು.
Declare Drought, Provide Rs 50,000 Compensation Per Acre for Crop Loss, Waive Loans: Opposition Leader R. Ashok Demands
Drought has intensified across the state, leaving farmers in distress and driving them to suicide. In the rural areas of Kalyana Karnataka, people are migrating in large numbers. Opposition Leader R. Ashok demanded that the Congress government immediately declare drought and provide Rs 50,000 per acre as compensation to farmers.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, he said that despite the severe drought ravaging the state, Congress leaders, ministers, and MLAs have gone to Delhi to engage in “jalli” (political manoeuvring). “This is not Karnataka’s drought — it should be called the misfortune written on the forehead of the people and farmers,” he remarked.
He recalled that during the BJP regime, the government was at the forefront during droughts and floods, taking proactive measures and providing double the compensation. “But now CM D.K. Shivakumar is telling farmers not to grow crops. If so, what should the farmers do? Let him tell them. Why not declare a universal holiday for farmers?” he asked sarcastically.
Ashok accused the government of drama, noting that they had initially opposed the VBG Ramji scheme but are now claiming they will implement it. He also alleged that Cauvery water is not being allowed for use by anyone in the state, yet it continues to flow uninterrupted to Tamil Nadu.
He said he had recently visited Malavalli and seen dried sugarcane crops. Drought has been declared in 157 taluks. Nearly 80% of agricultural activities have come to a standstill. There is no fodder for livestock, creating severe problems. Farmers are being forced to sell their cattle to butchers. The Revenue Minister has sought reports from district commissioners. They are saying the Centre should give Rs 10,000 crore. “How can grants be released without studying the ground situation and submitting a report to the Centre?” he questioned.
He demanded that the government prepare and submit the report immediately to secure relief, and in the meantime, release funds from the SDRF (State Disaster Response Fund) and take comprehensive relief measures.
Rainfall deficit in June stood at 42%. The deficit is 43% in Malenadu, 35% in the coastal region, 33% in North Interior Karnataka, and 31% in South Interior Karnataka. In just two months, 31 farmers have died by suicide — 6 in Vijayapura, 5 in Mysuru, 4 in Haveri, 3 in Chikkamagaluru, and others. Since Congress came to power, 2,800 farmers have committed suicide. “Whenever Congress comes to power, it becomes a curse on farmers,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi’s Political Drama
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joins hands with the “Jirale Party” (derogatory reference to Aam Aadmi Party), but has not joined hands with farmers even during drought. He goes to the Andaman Islands to protest for the environment but does not speak for farmers. The state government should have declared drought before demanding that the Centre declare it a national calamity.
Ashok criticised Minister Priyank Kharge, who often speaks about the RSS, asking him to give the exact numbers of people migrating from Kalyana Karnataka. In Yadgir district, people from the Lambani tandas (settlements) are abandoning their homes and migrating. “No one cares about this,” he expressed angrily.
As many as 5,862 lakes in the state have dried up. The government should have made preparations when the Meteorology Department issued warnings three months ago. Because the state treasury is empty, they are unable to release funds. Reservoirs and lakes are also dry. Linganamakki, Supa, and Varahi reservoirs have only 23% water, Cauvery basin reservoirs have 51%, and Krishna basin reservoirs have 48%. “By the time Parameshwara’s report comes, everyone would have migrated,” he said.

“I have written a letter with suggestions regarding the drought. The government should immediately declare drought and release Rs 20 crore to each taluk. They have already announced Rs 1 crore per taluk, but that money has not yet arrived. This meagre amount is not even enough to revive borewells. They must provide Rs 50,000 compensation per acre. No water should be released to other states. There is a racket of selling fodder from here to other states — it must be stopped. As promised, the Chief Minister should waive loans,” he demanded.
SDRF funds can be used immediately. Once drought is declared, works can be taken up under NDRF and grants will also be received. The Centre will send a team, prepare a report, and recommend grants. “But the Congress government is scared that declaring drought means they will have to provide relief. That is why they have gone to Delhi,” he alleged.
