Nagesh, an officer belonging to Income Tax department was caught red-handed by the sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at Bengaluru on wedensday night. He was caught while he was accepting the bribe from builder to help the builder in an IT raid case.
According to the information Nagesh had allegedly demanded for Rs. 40 Lakhs from the builder and was receiving Rs. 14 Lakhs in Coffee Day at Jayanagar in the city. IT department had carried out the raids on the houses and the business premises of the builder on March 6 and Nagesh had allegedly demanded the money from the builder to acquit him in the case.
The builder had lodged a complaint with CBI in this regard and the CBI officials had laid a trap for Nagesh who has been arrested. The investigation is on.
