The China based Tik Tok app is back in India after Madras high court lifted the ban imposed by it on Tik Tok application. The court lifted the ban on Wednesday.
After the ban on Tik Tok the Google play store and Apple store had removed the application from their respective stores. The Tik Tok had argued in the court that it has the mechanism to control the videos uploaded by the public and it is just a mediator. After this the court lifted the ban.
The High court has warned the company that, if the controlling system assured by the company is found ineffective then it amounts to the contempt of the court. The High court had issued an interim order on April 3, and had directed the union government to ban Tik Tok application. A petition was filed in the Madras High court alleging that, there was spurt in the obscene Tik Tok videos in social media which are adversely affecting the children. The petitioner has sought the ban on the Tik Tok application.
