Camp police in Belagavi achieved a breakthrough in a murder case that had taken place in the city on May 12
On that day some unknown persons had entered the hut of one Akasapu Parasuramudu near Gogate circle and had attacked his mother Veeraraghavi with cement slabs. She had suffered injuries on her forehead. When Parasuramudu had tried to catch the attackers he too was attacked and had suffered injuries.
Police after investigation arrested three persons who were involved in the scam. The accused have been identified as Raju Ningappa Patil, 24, resident of Khanapur, Juben Puttan Khan, 22, resident of Chikkodi and Iranna Narayanappa Kalasannanavar, 29, resident of Ramadurga. All the accused have been staying in Belagavi, police said.
The acused had killed the woman for Rs. 25000 it is said. Police have recovered the weapons used in the crime and also seized Rs. 2500 from the accused.
