The Signature project of Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum the 18th Free Swimming Coaching Camp for the Differently Abled and Under-privileged children has successfully conducted at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy’s Swimming Pool, Goaves, for a period of 21 days. This camp was organized in association with Rotary Club of Belgaum.
More than 207 children comprising of Mentally Retarded, The Blind, Physically Handicapped, Deaf and Dumb, Child labor, Trible, Orphans and poor children were taught basics of swimming during this camp.
These children were with free transportation, swimming kit and staple diet every day apart from free training to all the participants. The Cream of this coaching camp have been chosen for competitive training and to prepare for the various competitions.
The closing ceremony was held on 25th of February 2019. Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Dr. Prabhkar Kore, Chairman of KLE Society grace the as chief guests. Talented participants of this coaching camp demonstrated various skills learnt during the camp.
The demonstration performed by Usha from Maheswari School for Blind Jumping from 10 ft height diving board was a jaw dropping moment and 25 mtrs. Swim by Indo Tibetian Border Police Force soldier Shrikant Desai brought tears in the eyes of spectators.
All the participants, students of CBALC, auto drivers, teachers and swimming coaches were honored at the hands of Chief Guests for their services rendered towards the noble cause.
While speaking before the participants Dr. Kore congratulated the organizers for their services rendered for the upliftment of Divyang and Downtrodden society and expressed his feeling saying the best program ever attended in his life. Also assured all the support and help from the KLE Society.
