Suresh Angadi BJP candidate from Belagavi Parliamentary seat filed his nomination papers on Thursday. A huge procession of his supporters and BJP activists was taken out in the city. Former Chief Minister Jagadeesh Shettar, Rajyasabha MP Prabhakar Kore and others participated in the rally.
Adressing the party workers Jagadeesh Shettar said that AICC president Rahul Gandhi is contesting from wynaad in Kerala fearing the defeat in Amethi. Rahul has selected such a constituency which has 60 percent Muslim and Christian voters. Congress has lost the confidence of the Hindus he said.
The parties in the Grand Alliance (Mahaghatabandhan) have not considered the Congress while sharing the seat. JDS which was earlier father – Son party now turned into Father- Son- Grandchildren and daughter in law party he alleged. JDS President Devegowda would lose in Tumakuru constituency Shettar said.
Prabhakar Kore in his speech said that Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi are afraid of defeat and the Congress party would be wiped out he said. Congress leaders remember Hindus and temple only during the elections he alleged. Local MLAs Abhay Patil, Mahantesh Kavtagimath, Snil Benake, Anand Mamani and leaders M.B.Zirli, Rajendra Harkuni, Iranna Kadadi, Kiran Jadhav, Dr.Sonli Sarnobat participated in the rally.
