759 candidates make it in Civil Services Examination-2018

Total 759 candidates have been successful in Civil Services Examination-2018 conducted by the Union Public service Commission. The preliminary and mains examinations had been conducted in June and September 2018 respectively.
Of the total 10 lakh aspirants who had applied for the examination only 5 lakh had appeared for the prelims examination. Of them 10468 had qualified for the mains exam. Of them 1994 had qualified for the viva test and finally 759 have been selected for various central services.
This time 577 men and 182 women have been selected time IAS, IFS, IPS and Group A and Group B posts. Kanishka Kataria, a B. Tech graduate from IIT Mumbai has is the topper in the examination. He belonged to Scheduled cast community. He had opted for Mathematics as his optional subject.
Among women Srusti Jayant Deshamukh is the topper and she has ranked fifth in overall ranks. She is a chemical engineer from Rajeev Gandhi University Bhopal. 15 men and 10 women have shared the first 25 ranks.
