In view of the intelligence warning and the in the aftermath of the bomb blast in Sri Lanka the bomb disposal squad of State Armed Reserved Police on carried out the searches in Bhatkal railway station on Monday.
Sniffer dogs were used in the search.
Bhatkal is known as one of the sensitive places in the state. The search was carried out by Madegowda, ASI of state reserve police and over the platforms, tracks and offices of the Konkan Railway station in Bhatkal. Every day several trains pass through this station and commuters who travel between Kerala and Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan travel through this railway station.
Police sources said that the search was carried out as a precautionary measure.
