CM Responds favourably to the request of Kore – Kavatagimath

Prabhakar Kore, Rajyasabha member, Working president of KLE Society and Mahantesh Kavatagimath, Chief Whip of BJP in Legislative council on Monday met H D Kumaraswamy, CM of Karnataka. They apprised the CM about the shortage of drinking water in North Karnataka.
‘Districts like Belagavi, Bagalkote and Vijayapura are reeling under serious drought. People and the livestock in the area are suffering by the acute shortage of the drinking water. The scorching sun has aggravated the situation. To solve the water problem a high level deligati0on should visit Maharashtra and request the CM Maharashtra to release 4 TMC of the water. Apart from this both the states should enter into a long lasting water sharing treaty’ Kore and Kavatagimath requested the CM.
Responding to the request Kumaraswamy summoned Dr. Ramana Reddy, Chief Secretary and directed him to take an appointment with Maharashtra CM. Kumaraswamy said that he is inclined for long lasting solution to the water problem.
CM assured the delegation that government would take steps to build mini-dams come bridges in these areas to solve the water problem these districts.
