Briefing about the arrest of the accused SP Laxman Nimbaragi said Shivappa Basappa Bhagavantanvar, Govind Sangolli, Basavantappa Andanshetti and Mallikarjun Andanshetti have been arrested and booked with the brutal crime.
The accused armed with sticks and iron made weapon barged into the house of Andanshetti at around 12.30am and attacked three people.
The deceased have been identified as Vishwanath Shivanand Andanshetti, and his father Shivanand Andanshetti and mother Shantawwa Andanshetti. Shivanand Andanshetti was a former member of Dodwad Gram Panchayat.
Deceased Shivanand’ brother Ambanna Andanshetti and his two sons Bavantappa and Mallikarjun were the killers who surrendered to the police after committing the crime. The accused had earlier attacked the deceased over property and family dispute. The Bailhongal police are investigating the case.
