ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ, ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ: ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಸೈಬರ್ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳು ಗಣನೀಯವಾಗಿ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಧ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಂದ ವಯೋ ವೃದ್ಧರವರೆಗೆ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು ಸದ್ಯದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ನ ಕಾರ್ಡಿಫ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ನಿತೀಶ್ ಸಕ್ಸೇನಾ ತಿಳಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುವೆಂಪು ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಪರಾಧಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಧಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸೈಬರ್ ಸೇಫ್: ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಆನ್ಲೈನ್ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಭಾಯಿಸುವ ಕುರಿತು ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಶಾಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಜಾಲತಾಣವನ್ನು ಆನ್ಲೈನ್ ತರಗತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಪಠ್ಯ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಸೈಬರ್ ಅಪರಾಧದ ಭಾಗವಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿವೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸುವದು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ, ಜಾಲತಾಣ ಬಳಕೆದಾರರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಬಹು ಅವಶ್ಯಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ನಿಯಮಗಳು ಇರಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಮಹೇಶ್ ವಸ್ತ್ರದ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣದ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಜೀವನ ಎಷ್ಟು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಿದೆ.ಅನಧಿಕೃತ ಲಿಂಕ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಲಿಕ್ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸೋರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಹಣ ದೋಚುವ ಸಂಚನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೋ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತು ಹೆಣೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಪ್ರೊ. ರಿಯಾಜ್ ಮನಗೊಳಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸೈಬರ್ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ಕಾನೂನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಅಧಿನಿಯಮಗಳಿದ್ದು ೨೦೨೩ರ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಡೇಟಾ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು, ಇವುಗಳ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರು ಅರಿವು ಹೊಂದುವುದು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಸೈಬರ್ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಲು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೈಬರ್ ಅಪರಾಧ ವರದಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಪೋರ್ಟಲ್ ಇದ್ದು, ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲು ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿ ೧೯೩೦ಗೆ ಕರೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಎಂ.ಎ.ಸಪ್ನಾ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೈಬರ್ ಸ್ಟಾಕಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ನಿಂದನೆಯಂತಹ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಬಹಳ ಜಾಗರೂಕರಾಗಬೇಕು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆನ್ಲೈನ್ ವಹಿವಾಟು ನಡೆಸುವಾಗ ಮುಂಜಾಗೃತೆವಹಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಡಿಫ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ವೇಲ್ಸ್, ಯು.ಕೆ.ದ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಡಾ.ಅಮೀರ್ ಜಾವೇದ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಡಾ. ನಂದಿನಿ ದೇವರಮನಿ ಅವರು, ಕಾರ್ಡಿಫ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ಲೋಬಲ್ ವೇಲ್ಸ್ ಪಾಲುದಾರಿಕೆ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಿದ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪರಿಚಯಾತ್ಮಕ ನೋಟನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಎಸ್.ವಿ. ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಬೋಧಕ ಮತ್ತು ಬೋಧಕೇತರ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
Cyber Crime: Awareness is Essential
Belagavi: Due to the influence of social media, cybercrimes are increasing significantly. In this context, creating awareness among everyone from students to senior citizens, and especially women has become an urgent necessity, said Professor Nitish Saxena from Cardiff University, England.
He was speaking after inaugurating a one-day workshop titled “Cyber Safe: Handling Online Crimes Against Women and Children,” organized by the Department of Criminology and Forensic Science at the Kuvempu Auditorium of Rani Channamma University.
He noted that school children are increasingly using the internet for online classes and other academic activities, which increases their vulnerability to becoming victims of cybercrime. Therefore, it is essential to educate children about this, and digital security is crucial to protect internet users. He emphasized the need for appropriate regulations in this regard.
Professor Mahesh Vastrad from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) stated that we must ask ourselves how safe our personal lives are on social media platforms. He explained that by clicking on unauthorized links, all our personal information can be leaked, and schemes to steal our money are often orchestrated by people sitting in distant locations.
Professor Riyaz Managoli mentioned that there are several legal acts to prevent cybercrime, with the Digital Data Protection Act of 2023 being a significant one. It is essential for the general public to be aware of these laws. He added that there is a National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to specifically monitor cybercrimes against women and children, and victims should call the helpline
number 1930 to file a complaint.
Finance Officer M.A. Sapna in her presedential remarks, stated that cases of cyber stalking and personal harassment on social media are intensifying. She urged women to be extremely cautious when posting anything online and to exercise vigilance while conducting online transactions.
Dr. Amir Javed from Cardiff University, Wales, U.K. also spoke at the event. The Head of the Department of Criminology and Forensic Science, Dr. Nandini Devarmani made the introductory note of the project collaborated with Cardiff University under Global Wales Partnership with Karnataka along and made the welcome address. Dr.Chandraskekar SV , heads of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students, were present at the program.
