KLS GIT Women’s Swimming Team Secures Runners-Up Position at
VTU State Level Swimming Competition
Pragativahini News, Belagavi, [Date]: The Women’s Swimming Team of KLS Gogte
Institute of Technology (KLS GIT), Belagavi, has secured the Runners-Up
position at the VTU State Level Swimming Competition, bringing pride and
laurels to the institution.
The standout performance came from Sunidhi Halkare, a
first-semester student of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), who delivered
an exceptional performance by winning medals in seven events. Her achievements
include Gold Medals in the 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke,
and 50m Breaststroke; a Bronze Medal in the 100m Breaststroke; and Silver
Medals in the 100m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley.
In recognition of her outstanding performance, Sunidhi
Halkare has been selected to represent Visvesvaraya Technological University
(VTU) at the All India University National Swimming Competition, scheduled to
be held in Chennai in December 2026.
Other KLS GIT swimmers also delivered commendable
performances at the competition. Ajiyanka Sungar, a student of Computer Science
and Engineering (CSE), secured a Silver Medal in the 50m Backstroke. Swayam
Karekar, a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), won
Bronze Medals in the 50m and 200m Backstroke.
The Principal, Dr. Vijay Athavale, Dean – Administration,
Prof. Digambar Kulkarni, and Director of Physical Education, Dr. George
Rodrigues, congratulated the KLS GIT Women’s Swimming Team and appreciated the
athletes for their outstanding performances and dedication. They extended their
best wishes to Sunidhi Halkare and the entire team for the upcoming All India
University National Swimming Competition.
The Physical Instructors, Ms. Shubhaswa Shikhare and Ms.
Shivani Karale, also extended their heartfelt congratulations to the swimmers
and appreciated their hard work, commitment, and dedication in bringing laurels
to the institution.
