While registering a company in England AICC President Rahul Gandhi has mentioned in a document that he is a British national. As per the people’s representation act no foreigner can contest election in India. So his no nation papers submitted from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency should be rejected, according to a complaint filed before the Returning Officer of Amethi. This complaint has been filed by Dhruvalal an independent candidate.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers in Amethi has been postponed to Monday in this context.
No foreigner can contest an election in India without having the citizenship of the country, Dhruvalal said. This has cause anxiety among the Congress and they are waiting for the final decision of Election Commission.
