ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ, ತಾರಿಹಾಳ : ಭಕ್ತರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಠದ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ತುರ್ತು ವಿನಂತಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿರುವ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ (Pyaas) ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್, ತಾರಿಹಾಳದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಬಡೇಕೊಳ್ಳ ಮಠದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶತಮಾನದಷ್ಟು ಹಳೆಯದಾದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಿಯ (ಬಾವಿ) ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ.
ಮುಂಬರುವ ಸೋಮವತಿ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯ ಪವಿತ್ರ ದಿನದಂದು ಮಠಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರು ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಅನುಕೂಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ (ಯುದ್ಧೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ) ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಭಕ್ತ ಸಾಗರದ ನಡುವೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿನ ಅಭಾವ
ಬಡೇಕೊಳ್ಳ ಮಠವನ್ನು ಬಡೇಕೊಳ್ಳಮಠ ನಾಗಯ್ಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮಠ ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಈ ಭಾಗದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹಾಗೂ ನೆರೆರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಭಕ್ತರು ಈ ಮಠಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
- ಬೇಡಿಕೆ: ಪ್ರತಿ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ 10,000ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಭಕ್ತರು ಆಗಮಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಈ ಬಾರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕ ಮಾಸದ ಸೋಮವತಿ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯಂದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾತ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಆಗಮಿಸುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ.
- ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ: ಮಠದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತರ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಬಲ್ಲ ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಬಾವಿ ಇದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿನ ತೀವ್ರ ಅಭಾವ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಸರಿಯಾದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ, ಬಾವಿಯ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ದಟ್ಟವಾದ ಗಿಡಗಂಟಿಗಳು ಬೆಳೆದು, ಒಳಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಹೂಳು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣಾ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಬಳಕೆಯ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತತೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಕ್ಷೀಣಿಸಿತ್ತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯ ಯೋಜನೆ: ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನದ ಹಂತಗಳು
ಮಠದವರ ವಿನಂತಿಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ, ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಮತ್ತು ನುರಿತ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಿದೆ. ಯೋಜಿತ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನಂತಿವೆ:
- ಗಿಡಗಂಟಿಗಳ ತೆರವು: ಬಾವಿಯ ಸುತ್ತ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿರುವ ದಟ್ಟವಾದ ಕಾಡು ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು.
- ಹೂಳೆತ್ತುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ: ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಶೇಖರಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಸ ಮತ್ತು ಹೂಳನ್ನು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಂತರ್ಜಲದ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕಾರಂಜಿಗಳು (ಚಿಲುಮೆಗಳು) ಮರುಜೀವ ಪಡೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು.
- ರಚನಾತ್ಮಕ ಬಲವರ್ಧನೆ: ಬಾವಿಯ ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಟ್ಟಡದ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಬಾಳಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಲವರ್ಧನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು.
- ನೀರಿನ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ಕ್ರಮಗಳು: ಮಠಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಭಕ್ತರು ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಬಳಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಣ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.

ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ನ ಈ ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯು ಭಕ್ತರ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿನ ತುರ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ತಾಣವನ್ನು ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗಾಗಿ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
PYAAS FOUNDATION TAKES UP RESTORATION OF HISTORIC WELL AT BADEKOLL MATH, TARIHAL
Tarihal, June 2026: Responding to an urgent appeal from the devotees and management of the historic Badekoll Math at Tarihal, Pyaas Foundation has initiated the rejuvenation of a century-old well located within the Math premises. The restoration work has been taken up on a war footing with the objective of making the well functional before the forthcoming Somavati Amavasya, when thousands of devotees are expected to visit the sacred institution.
Badekoll Math, also known as Badekholmath Nagayya Swami Matha, is one of the region’s most revered spiritual centres and has lakhs of followers from across Karnataka and neighbouring states. Every Amavasya attracts more than 10,000 devotees, while this Adhik Masa Somavati Amavasya witnesses an even larger gathering of pilgrims seeking the blessings of the presiding deity and spiritual leaders of the Math.
Despite having a large traditional well within its premises, the Math has been facing a recurring shortage of potable water for devotees. Over the years, the well had become overgrown with vegetation and accumulated significant quantities of silt, severely reducing its water-holding capacity and utility.
Following a request from the Math authorities, volunteers and workers of Pyaas Foundation immediately commenced cleaning and restoration activities. The project includes removal of dense vegetation, desilting of the well, strengthening of the surrounding structure where necessary, and measures to ensure that the water can be safely utilized by devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Pyaas Foundation reiterated their commitment to reviving traditional water sources and preserving the region’s rich water heritage. Once completed, the rejuvenated well is expected to provide a reliable source of drinking water to thousands of pilgrims visiting the Math every month.
The restoration will not only address an immediate need but will also stand as a lasting contribution to the service of devotees and the preservation of a historic spiritual landmark.
