KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Belagavi celebrated Martyr’s Day on Wednesday.
India celebrates Shaheed Diwas every year on January 30 to pay homage to the victims who fought for the freedom, glory, welfare and progress of India. Fifteen countries in the world including India, celebrate Martyr’s Day to give respect to their freedom fighters.
During the occasion, Dr. P V Kadagadakai and Prof. Vineeta Gejji spoke on the importance of the day and remembered the sacrifice done by the freedom fighters. They appealed to be non violence and keep harmony in the society in view of uplifting the dignity of the Nation. Principal In charge Prof. S B Halbhavi, Dr. V S Majali, staff members and NSS student volunteers of GIT were present and were uphold 2 minutes silence on the occasion.
