ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ವಾಟರ್ ವಲಯದ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾದ ‘ಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ವಾಟರ್ ನೆಟ್‌ವರ್ಕ್ಸ್ ಫೋರಮ್’ (SWAN), ತನ್ನ 5ನೇ ‘ಹಿರಿಯ ಯುಟಿಲಿಟಿ ಸಲಹಾ ಸಮಿತಿ’ಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಲಹಾ ಸಮಿತಿಗೆ ಭಾರತದ ಏಕೈಕ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಜಲಮಂಡಳಿ (BWSSB) ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಡಾ. ರಾಮ್ ಪ್ರಸಾತ್ ಮನೋಹರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಗಣ್ಯರ ಸಮಿತಿಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಸಮಿತಿಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ಭಾರತದ ಏಕೈಕ ಜಲಮಂಡಳಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಡಾ. ಮನೋಹರ್ ಆಗಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ, ಕೆನಡಾ, ಪೋರ್ಚುಗಲ್, ಬ್ರೆಜಿಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ತಜ್ಞರು ಈ ಸಮಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನ ಸವಾಲುಗಳು, ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಟ್ರೆಂಡ್‌ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯತಂತ್ರದ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಆದ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ತಂಡ, ‘ಸ್ವಾನ್’ನ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಉಪಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಲಿದೆ.
